Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro: 64MP Camera in Pro model and low prices officially announced

Xiaomi has finally unveiled the successors of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 series. The reason for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro. Both phones offer four rear cameras, a fingerprint scanner, drop-in notch, 3.5mm port, IR blaster, and USB-C. Inside the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, users will find Snapdragon 665, a 6.3-inch FHD + display, a 4,000 mAh battery with 18 watt fast charging, and a quad-core camera system with a 48MP Samsung GM-1 sensor.

The quad camera also comes with an 8MP ultra wide sensor, a 3MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. Other specs of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 are a 13MP selfie camera and 90% screen to body ratio, scanner on the back and Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro is the most impressive of the two. Features a Mediatek Helio G90T with water cooling. Thanks to the G90T, the phone supports simultaneous connectivity to 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi networks. The Pro model also includes a 4,500 mAh fast charge battery. Xiaomi reports that the phone can fully charge in less than two hours and reach 50% of its capacity in just 36 minutes. The company had previously confirmed that it would offer a 64MP sensor in the Redmi Note 8 pro and is indeed here. The 64MP sensor delivers pixel binned photos that correspond to a 16MP 1.6 micron camera.

As for the rest of the quad system, we have an 8MP ultra wide camera, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. It's a little frustrating that we don't see a telephoto, though it's not surprising because of the budget of the device. It comes with a 6.53-inch FHD + display with 91.4% screen to body ratio, a 20MP selfie camera, NFC and 960 fps slow motion.

At China prices, the Redmi Note 8 Pro starts at $ 196 for the 6GB / 64GB model, $ 223 for the 6GB / 128GB model, and $ 251 for the 8GB / 128GB version. At the same time, the Redmi Note 8 comes in at $ 140 for the 4GB / 64GB version and $ 168 for the 6GB / 64GB and $ 196 for the 6GB / 128GB model.
